Two opportunities to take ACTION

1) The Fairfax County Transportation survey that focuses on transit/bike preferences closes tomorrow. Read more here. Take the survey here.

2) Herndon Town Council is voting on adopting a bicycle plan on August 14th. The plan was discussed at the last meeting and there was some resistance to bicycles on the road by some of the councilmembers. Read more about the last meeting here.

I’m hoping to bump this topic. If you would like to see Herndon be more friendly to cyclists, please come to the Herndon Town Council meeting TONIGHT at 7pm -765 Lynn Street, Herndon, VA. Last month they discussed the adoption of the plan and it turned into a bit of a “cyclists shouldn’t be on the roads” fest. The discussion was pushed until tonight, so please come and speak before the board about how you value cycling.
