ParticipantI’m new to the forum. I’ve heard of it loosely, but never looked until a coworker mentioned a ride. I’ve been in the area for 25 months and expect to only be here another 15 or so and thought not much point in signing up. And honestly, fat tire riding is my preference so I have been on the MORE forum since I moved.
This thread compelled me to go ahead and sign up. Thanks Jabs.
I’m stuck in the Phoenix airport on my way out to CA for work, but plan on contributing more meaningfully to this thread once I’m back home (couple of weeks).

What’s the spacing between your hooks? Is that a 29er? I’m designing my wall storage now and I’m trying to get as compact as possible while still fitting the 29er bars in there…
Sorry Dave – just seeing this so I’m probably posting way too late to be of any use for you. But the hooks are 15″ apart. I initially planned on 16″ but didn’t have the room for 6 hooks so I cut it down to 15″. It’s tight but doable. If I could do 16″ I would have. Yes, there’s a 29er in the bunch.

You overestimate my work ethic… great to know this and I’ve got plenty of time. Thanks.

Ha! No problem. And if you have more questions let me know.

ParticipantI wish my bike room looked like the others, but space is limited in an Arlington Condo. Our den is used for bike storage (and office), while wrenching is done in the dining/living room.

ParticipantAlmost done = about to install the clean room airlock door, I expect.

ParticipantI assume that bike is in the stand so you can trim the steerer?
J/k. Yeah, wow, I don’t think I will ever have even 1/8th that much space for bikes or bike-related workspace! Very nice.

You’re totally single, aren’t you.

ParticipantYeah…this is a bit beyond me. The bike I’m riding tomorrow is leaning against the wall by the back door of my wife’s art studio (she has a ton of space!) and the other is tucked in the hideaway space under the stairs. Tools, such as they are, are on a converted bookshelf in the storage room of the basement. Most work is done outside because there’s space and light, or I use the floor in my wife’s studio (what are those dirty spots on the floor!!??).

I think Matt has at least as many kids as I do.

ParticipantWow, I so want Matt’s “garage”. Major envy here. Does it come with a bike mechanic too? I presume the cars have been relegated to the outdoors? Boy, they must be pissed.

ParticipantMatt is forcing me to hide those images from my bikes. They would surely want to move to his much nicer digs.
Nice space!
