Temperature Not Syncing

Thanks for organizing a fun competition and excellent stats!

I was looking at the various points this evening, and it looks like my temperatures never synced to Strava. I biked my kids to school when temps were in the teens and twenties, but the tracking shows the coldest I ever rode was 54 degrees. What setting is wrong?

My Strava Weather On checkbox is checked when viewed from my laptop. (In the app, it’s grayed out and cannot be toggled.) I have a lot of privacy settings turned on, but I don’t see anything about weather there.

Temperature is not pulled from your ride, but from the weather station readings from your approximate ride GPS location and approximate time. These readings often don’t precisely match what you experience, but we’re a technology upgrade away from being able to pull head-unit temperature. If you log into the FS site, click your name in the top right and select My Rides, it lists every ride and the temperature. If you rode on 1/22 or thereabouts you should have a lower temperature recorded. Would need your Strava ID to diagnose any more (I’m Mrln 🧙‍♂️).

Ahhh. It must be because my privacy settings don’t share my map info. Under temperature, it shows “🌞🤷☃️” for every ride except the one I did on a vacation, for which I manually made the map public. I did ride on 1/22; the temp is 🌞🤷☃️. My Strava ID is 153462056. Thank you!

So we didn’t get weather for about 5% of our rides, yours included, possibly because of privacy settings. However I’ve tweaked a thing, now that we know what to look for, and we’ve added a number of additional hours below freezing to the group total, so you should have weather for (some of) your rides! And yes, a 54º coldest ride would have been a bit shameful.

Yes! Thank you! It’s now showing my coldest ride as 18°. Much less embarrassing. 😳
