Hi, this is Jeff, bad but nevertheless esteemed captain. I and reluctant elf doggie welcome you to Team 4’s main social page. Please bookmark this thread for info on social rides, as well as complaints, questions, concerns, encouragement, advice, and so on.

Please join this club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/335178 if and only if you’re a member of this team.

My goals for this year are to ride safe, avoid crashes and illness, have lots of fun rides, including cooperative rides with teams 5 and 6 (and perhaps others) who share our main ride region, which is DC northward and eastward into northern Prince Geo’s county and eastern Montgomery. I ride mostly out of Proteus bike shop so I will frequently be mentioning those social rides for our mutual pleasure.

Apologies in advance for my bad captaincy — I will be on vacation and pretty much out of bike range from Jan 20 to Feb 3. So I’ll be asking others to please volunteer to coordinate rides and bike-oriented fun times.

    Thanks, and Welcome!

Mid pack finish for the Snowflakes, but some nice individual milestones this FS season: Patty on overall podium! Ricky, Millie and Eddie closing on in 100% participation days. Shane with 70+ days and 1200 miles. I had a weak winter on mileage, with that long vacation and then nursing a cold for long while. But I did hit one marker a couple weeks ago: 50k miles since I started tracking on Strava in 2012. Next year I’ll try to compete more seriously, maybe at least on #fs2019dirtybiker! -Jeff

We had some good participation/leading of reindeer games from our team, too! Ricky is hosting his own game, the afore-mentioned #fs2018dirtybiker, and I am assisting with Frozemon, and a little with Calvinball and Donuts. I have also hosted multiple happy hours, posted on these forums.

Absolutely, you and the other reindeer gamers had a huge year this year. There were so many events it was awesome!

this was by far my worst year in terms of days and mileage, between a week of vacation (fun!) and then having an obnoxious crash (not so fun!). according to strava i’m almost exactly 150 miles short of where i was this time last year, though in my defense my crash this year happened earlier in the game than getting hit by a car last year. i should probably stop getting injured during freezing saddles…

The top teams are usually the ones with no injuries, no illnesses, and lots of daily participation up and down the list. Injury avoidance = #1 goal for me these days!
