There are two master plans that are going in front of the County Board next week:
1) the bike plan (in Arlington-speak, the “Bicycle Element of the Master Transportation Plan”) will be considered next TUESDAY, April 23, at the hearing starting 7pm (but it’s last on the agenda)
2) the parks plan (in Arlington-speak, the “Public Spaces Master Plan”) will be considered next THURSDAY, April 25, at the hearing starting 7pm (first on the agenda)
The plans are good, but … (click on the links below to get more information and a form to easily submit comments to the Board)
For the bike plan:
1) we need to strengthen the plan
2) we need to speak up for these changes in light of competing priorities
3) we need to remind the Board of the need to fund it going forward
For the parks plan, we would like to make sure it calls for mountain biking, cyclocross and pump tracks in Arlington.
