    Hey
I need to replace a shifter cable on my Jamie Renegade.

    What would you recommend?

I remember trying Gore Tex cables and housing back on the 90s on my mountain bike. They were a pain to install and didn’t provide any real benefit.

Now I use whatever cheap cables are available from REI or the LBS.

Plain old Jagwire is plenty good. If’n you’re wanting to spend big bucks, the shimano dura ace polymer cable is really nice.

    I’ve used this site:

Pretty extensive selection of cables and housing with decent prices.

I use whatever cables are available from the LBS, though when I order ahead (on line), I usually buy Jagwire. I find that cable housings are perhaps more important than than the wires itself, so only buy top of the line, quality housings (my last purchase were Gore housings)
