    Dear All.

I have been victimized twice in a week now due to a number of severe road conditions on east bound Clarendon Blvd. between Courthouse and Rosslyn. Here are the specifics locations and conditions for your own safety.

    – Corner of 17th street and Clarendon Blvd (outside Starbucks) Large metal plate in road w/no warning or markings. Sticks up more than an inch… severe hazard to cyclists, destroyed one wheel last week.

    – Bicycle lane between N. Scott and N. Quinn street. Bicycle lane is completely covered in heavy gravel on most of the descent and has large potholes. The lane markings themselves are completely covered and unrecognizable. Very dangerous conditions, already crashed once.

    Cheers, Richard

I’ll pass this along to the engineers who will ask the inspectors to look into it.

    Photos are an excellent help!

    Thanks Tim.

I already went to the Arlington County online site and reported the issues but having someone else look into will certainly help speed up matters. I commute home in the evenings, so you can imagine how treacherous it is in the dark, downhill, with cars passing you. Thanks for looking into it.

    – Richard

The inspectors have been out, and the Contractors intend to clean up the gravel tomorrow.

When I rode past this morning around 7:30, there were workers with push brooms cleaning up the gravel on that downhill section.
