Mt. Vernon Trail was flooded pretty bad this morning around Memorial Bridge. Met a few people back-tracking. Image from #dctrails http://yfrog.com/j43gkuj

Rock Creek/Potomac Parkway near Watergate was a few inches away from being flooded this morning, too.

    Anyone have any more updates?

I ran into that too this morning and was hoping someone would post what it looks like now. Trying to decide whether to leave my bike at work or ride home today.

As of 5pm today the water had receded on the MVT between Roosevelt Island and the 14th St Bridge. Where there was water between the Roosevelt and Memorial Bridges the trail is now covered with soft mud two to three inches deep. Most riders can avoid it by riding near the edge of the GW Parkway. Where there was water just north of the 16 mile post there is a bunch of large debris you can’t ride over. Riders were going along the edge of the GW Parkway, or on wider tires, just off the side of the trail.

The stretch of mud north of Memorial Bridge is still there as of 5pm this evening. There is a narrow dry path that only goes about halfway through. The debris field north of milepost 16 has been cleared.
