The trail is now open (thanks to Komorebi for the tip) for trail users.

Oh terrific; thanks for the update! Hadn’t checked in awhile.
Looking forward to trying the connector (albeit, as a more circuitous option, with the other 4MRT closure nearby, vs just crossing Rt 1 at the light; worth it to try out the new infrastructure!)

I rode it this AM. I can’t see many occasions when it would really be a useful route for me. I don’t need to get to the Rte 1 east side sidewalk very much, either north or south of here. Easier ways to get to Potomac Avenue in either direction. It seems mostly useful for people accessing the park itself from the 4MRT. OTOH if and when there is any kind of connection, official or unofficial, through the park to Potomac Avenue (I did not check that out this AM) that could be useful.

Seems like they “fixed” the wrong connection. You know, one that would involve getting rid of those godawful switchbacks with a direct connection from Potomac Ave to the 4MRT. On the other hand, they are an “opportunity” to practice your slow-speed handling skills…

A connection to Potomac Ave / Potomac Yard Trail will be added when the park is built.

This one is great for me since I go to Potomac Yard and Crystal City a lot and hate crossing Route 1. When I’m hauling the trailer or riding the GSD I can’t make the turns on the switchback.
