Ice skate?
No, but I did see an ice hockey game being played on the pond along the custis near cherrydale. Was too cold to take a picture…

ParticipantI must admit, when reading this forum I always wondered how so many people were falling over in bad weather. I guess I deserved what happened tonight:

(about 7 seconds in is when the fun happens; this is on the bridge approaching the TR island parking lot)

Glad you weren’t seriously hurt, falls on ice happen so fast you don’t have time to react.

Nice Kona! You just wanted a chance to show it off in the video.

I hope you aren’t suggesting that nvrpa is full of it.

Yep that’s how it happens. Having flashbacks o my commute home last Thursday evening. Glad you were able to get up in one piece, too.

Not at all. I love having the trails to myself.

shouldn’t there be more ski tracks?
Even when we had enough snow, there were 2 or 3 ski tracks compared to many, many dozens, if not hundreds of cyclist tracks.

A pannier hooked onto a shopping cart is super helpful when you have two kids that want to ride in the shopping cart. Bonus points when shopping at the Washington Blvd Giant with U-Scan — you can be all loaded by the time you pay.

Giant with U-Scan — you can be all loaded by the time you pay. That’s one reason I do my shopping at the Giant here in Silver Spring before heading back into DC. I don’t like the unpleasant surprise of discovering I bought more than I can fit into my panniers. The two DC stores closest to me don’t have the scanners.
