Would it be silly of me to try this intro with my no suspension flatbar mtn bike with 1.5″ tires? I feel like everyone else will be on awesome cross bikes.

The loop I’m contemplating is about 32 miles. Honestly I think you’d be fine on the mountain bike. Tim rode a metric century with us earlier this year… but then again he’s Tim. You’ll be fine.

In good news, I’ve learned that I should be fine taking my bike right up into my office with me.
Well, if you ever run in to an issue, feel free to drop it by my office.

Sunday morning August 11th looks surprisingly free on my calendar …. or pretty much any Sunday in September save the 1st.
My plan is to do these as kind of open club rides once per month for the foreseeable future. We’ll work out a time that works for everyone.

You’re about my size. You’re welcome to borrow my geared gravel rig while I ride the fixie one. The bars will likely be a little low for you, but I’m guessing you can adapt a little.

It was mostly fine–going uphill and downhill are about the same speed. I felt it more on the flats where the more upright position and extra tire resistance add a bit more. Just tuck in and draft on those sections.

Between posting here and staring at your bike, how are you going to get any work done?
I’d ‘Like’ this post, but ef’in javascript doesn’t work on the work-laptop’s Internet Explorer* – heck, I’m lucky the forum has two separate web addresses because one of them is blocked!
As it is, I’ve positioned the bike behind my monitor – its a good and bad thing that I can’t see it.

Boss just walked in and either didn’t notice my bike or gives precisely zero f#%#$^cks. Either way, I win.

Winning would be boss noticing, then saying “nice bike. Screw the work thing I was coming to talk to you about, let’s go for a ride”.

Participantbikearlingtonforum.com works.
washingtonareabikeforum (or whatever it is) gets blocked. Not sure how the company manages white lists/black lists – I imagine they just subscribe to 3rd party lists or they have keyword filters they apply.
I wouldn’t mind using the Tapatalk app to access, but functionality is so limited that its kind of a pain.

Would it be winning or losing if the boss said, “Nice bike! Can I try it out?”
