It’s not every day that you ride past a gator sitting next to the trail. (Look to the right side in the grass). This was captured from my GoPro. In hindsight I wish I would have stopped and taken a selfie as the gator appeared to be unconcerned with my presence.

No photos from today’ ride in the Slovakia/Austria borderlands, too drizzly and misty. Riding through a wind farm I could not see the upper blades. Here’s what it looks like from my 5th floor hotel room (crappy view in the best of weather ). I’ll take that gator Judd if it means I can have the blue sky!

We aim to please. FYI, the back of my hi-viz rain jacket was mostly brown after today’s ride and is still spotted after getting a shower rinse.

I’m back in the Czech Republic staying at a small hotel in Horní Planá (Oberplan in German), South Bohemia. Another dismal, drizzly, but not quite so chilly day. I had thought about riding around the Lipno Lake when I booked the hotel a couple weeks ago, but was unmotivated for a 50 mile ride on the Pugsley this morning. I did ride along Bike Route 33 which is the north shore route and then headed up into the hills after Radslava.

The area has lots of small summer vacation rentals and a couple of ski areas, but this weekend most of the penziones were closed.

Heading back from Olsino I was on Bike Route 1254 coming through Hodnov.

Back in Horní Planá I stopped at the Hotal Na Pláži for Coffeeneuring bonus #3, a coffee lungo and the barista sold me on some warm soup too.

Cycle Route 33 continued on past my hotel, so of course I had to see where it went, adding five more kilometers to the days ride. A two carriage train passed going each way.

Mountain biked about 3.5 hours Friday between Great Falls and the ice rink. Conditions nice and dry and I managed to only fall once. Too stupid to take a pic of the bike with it, but here’s a pic of a tree covered in chicken mushrooms (too old to harvest).[ATTACH=CONFIG]12856[/ATTACH]
