Not my ride (I stayed home instead of going the Embassy Hail and Farewell at the Marine House, those black skies looked too ominous for me ), but a Strava link to some photos of Kyiv street flooding during a thunderstorm from Tanya Nevada’s evening commute.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Because it was a scofflaw at the no-chicken-crossing signal!

A few overly stylized pictures from riding at Dead Horse Point State Park near Moab, UT a few weeks ago:

Off for a ride on the Pugsley and for some reason my Garmin 500 Edge couldn’t locate a GPS satellite after I crossed the Havanskyi Bridge. So about two and a half hours later after downloading the ride, it decided it could find the signal just fine in my apartment.

Climbed up the long way from the Parkovyi Bridge coming out at the zip line station and the “Friendship of Nations Arch” (I’ve heard it referred to as “the Yoke”). Just think how many bicycles could be made from all that titanium. Great views back across the river.

Headed back down a little, crossed under Volodymerskyi Descent and then up Vladimir’s Hill. The zip line and the funicular are two ways back down to the river. You can take your bike on the funicular, not on the zip line.

I took the back way along Starovkyivska Hill where artists sell their works (very busy Saturday and Sunday, not so much on Tuesday).

Came out at Andriivskyi Descent where artisans have their wares out for sale (again, busier on Saturday and Sunday).

Taking another back way along Peizazhna Alley a historical area of Kyiv which now is lined with a children’s art park. Looking towards the river there are rounded hills.

I found Misha from the 1980 Olympics converted to a Ukrainian bear. I’ve got to remember to keep my mouth closed when taking a selfie.

Yeah, I’m sure if you’re clipped in it wouldn’t be a problem.

One more trip to Trukhaniv Island.

They’ve been working on this area for the past six months, now have bike lanes both sides and have put up towing enforcement signs. They have also reconfigured the entry and put in a fee booth for parking that cars can’t drive around any more.

Then bike lanes were added to the approach this past week.
