It’s probably just the way they designed this particular overlay, which is just a pre-made template…I would try to test it, but I doubt I could get even close to 1000W. There are overlays that are just the numbers, but that’s not quite as compelling.
I’m only teasing…but yeah, go out and try doing a couple max efforts to see what you peak at! Report back in the other thread on talking about power.

Why does the power range max out at only 1000?
That’s why I’m not using it. Max power is too low.
Jokes aside, @TwoWheelsDC, it looks really cool!

ParticipantC&O trip, part the third: the ride home!
Bikes waiting to leave the hotel in Leesburg:
Last rest stop in Vienna:
Made it home! Almost 140 miles of C&O, country roads, and W&OD:
On the trip, some jerk-wad tried to roll coal on us during our road ride yesterday, but his pass was so generously wide, I didn’t get even a whif of exhaust. Kinda funny, actually (except that it isn’t funny at all). Also, it turns out the building across the street from where we stayed in Harpers Ferry burned down overnight last night, so I’m kind of glad we left there when we did, rather than staying an extra day.

ParticipantA flock of crows flying over the Exorcist house, next to the Exorcist Steps in Georgetown. (You could say a “murder of crows” but I’m not going to.)

I also learned, just now, that there is a makeshift pull-up bar, near the bottom of the stairs. Just to the right when looking up the stairs. It’s just above the smaller set of stairs on the right. When hanging from the bar, your feet would be just above one of the metal steps, and you are only a foot or two off the ground. So even if you slipped, you wouldn’t fall that far.

ParticipantEnjoying riding the trails… admittedly only the C&O for now, but starting to do some research on light gravel riding options in the area.

ParticipantSince I hadn’t taken a ride on the Arlington Loop for a while, I decided to take it this morning. Just after crossing Columbia Pike headed westbound I noticed something new just off the trail.

While it might be nice to get a Bike Arlington cap, this map is a nice addition to the Arlington Loop for all to use.
Thanks, Bike Arlington!

ParticipantGot out for my first ride in Kyiv, and of course got turned around. It was frequently hard to find a street sign and almost all are only in Cyrillic.
According to my map, this is a momument to the vicitms of the Kurenivskpo catastrophe by a pedestrian overpass into the Babyn Yar Park

ParticipantColin, Edwin, Felipe, HF, Mike, SarahB and I did the http://www.biketothebeach.org century ride last Friday from DC to Dewey Beach, as the #Blokes-Broads-Bikes-and-Brews cycling team. B2B2015 is an annual ride to raise funds for Autism research and support to afflicted families. My college roommate has two Autistic children which is why I got involved 5 years ago. While at the beach, we stayed over to explore the local breweries and creameries, and took the ferry to/fro Cape Lewes DE and Cape May NJ.
4am start in NoMa under a blue full moon (Boomer, Sarah & Felipe)
Riders were shuttled over the Bay Bridge while our bikes went via moving trucks to the commuter parking lot at Rt 50 – Rt 404 Junction.
We really wanted beer somewhere around the metric century mark but ate watermelon instead!

Participant#Blokes-Broads-Bikes-and-Brews cycling team at North Beach, DE finish line.
Massages were in order after 106 miles!
And so was beer to toast SarahB for racking up QOMs for just about every segment Strava had to offer.
And the crew cleaned up quite nicely to have a hearty meal while watching the sun set over the bay
