ParticipantNothing really exciting, a quick picture taken yesterday at Hains Point – it just sums up a spin on a nice July day, I would think.

One possible explanation, and its relevance to the WWII era.

From March 2015. I rode CaBi that day, over to the location filming for “Sharknado 3” on the pedestrian plaza in front of the White House. Ian Ziering stars in the creature-feature movie.
I was part of a scene where a large group of people were running, presumably from the sharknadoes. I can see a brief glimpse of me in a couple of the trailers, but only my running shoes.
The movie airs tonight on the Syfy Channel at 9 pm.
P.S. Don’t expect the movie to be a quality drama or Emmy Award material. I think that would be obvious from the title. But you never know if someone might tune into something like “Sharknado 3” and expect “Forrest Gump” or “All the President’s Men”.

ParticipantBonus pic: I found Dickie’s next bike at the bike shop in Purcellville!

I’m told the shop owner turned down an offer of $8000 for the bike. Apparently the bike was his first racing bike back in the ’80s.

ParticipantFirst video with all sensors going (power + cadence + HR). It’s a bit of a pain to get the sensor data overlaid just right with the video (the Virb doesn’t read sensors), but it’s kinda fun to watch with the data (for me, at least). 2 hours of hills condensed into just a few minutes…

Why does the power range max out at only 1000?

It’s probably just the way they designed this particular overlay, which is just a pre-made template…I would try to test it, but I doubt I could get even close to 1000W. There are overlays that are just the numbers, but that’s not quite as compelling.

I’m only teasing…but yeah, go out and try doing a couple max efforts to see what you peak at! Report back in the other thread on talking about power.
