Well, decided to go for a nice ride on the C&O… after all, heat, sun and dehydration were what was in store today, correct?

It was very pleasant when everyone escaped due to the rain…

Yup, not very many people on the trail beyond Great Falls…

Ten minutes with a hose when I got home…

Same for me… tasting the mud for kilometers was less fun…

When you take Metro from the airport you still have to get from the station to the house.

Amazingly, yes. And according to Strava I hit a top speed of 15.9 mph (downhill, of course)

My backup plan was just to walk everything home–bike with one hand and suitcase with the other. But I didn’t have to.

I saw you out there, near great falls overlook trail! Thought it was you but wasn’t 100% sure. (I was out with a baby in the backpack walking with family — in-laws in town.) Nice bike.

You need to talk to @GuyContinental about a Brush Hero! :-) although your hose method seems to have worked just fine.

If you and your bike dont have to take a bath at the end of the ride, what is the point! Playing in the mud is fun!!

Laurie the pied piper on Saturday’s Rec Center to Youth Center kids ride in Greenbelt. Shameless advocacy pitch: Organizing these sorts of rides is complicated, but it has been an eye opener for some of our city police and staff and elected officials on how difficult it can be to get around town, especially for kids! Afterwards, they understand better when we ask them for funding for bike lanes and sidewalks, and assistance preventing speeding etc. …

Good that you are back from Shepardwhatever… 😀

I actually sloshed almost knee deep in the Potomac to get some of the mud off my shoes and legs. Does that count?
