Sometimes great rides take hostages. b29b9294b8c834aada7b996617393928.jpg4f358c630ebceaa07c029e440116b03a.jpg

^^^^ I hope there are no companion pics in the “post pics of your injuries” thread…

Yeah, nothing dramatic enough for the injuries thread :-) just enough blood to hopefully be a lesson to the kids about overconfidence on wet surfaces.

Was going to ask if that was a wet based splat. A splat splat? Watch shows a bit before 9 post at 9:12

That worked for me. Big time. Of course, mine was such that I had good reason to post on the injuries thread, but I’m dumber than most children.

There are some benefits to riding around DC mapping bike racks. In the past, I had wondered whether there was any outdoor fitness equipment along the National Mall, to do pull-ups. I can do push-ups anywhere, but it’s more difficult to find places to do pull-ups outdoors. I like to run (and ride) along the National Mall. Having such equipment would let me add some strength exercises without setting aside separate sessions for strength training.

Earlier this week, I happened upon this, just across the street from the Air and Space Museum

It’s an outdoor fitness center, with pull-up bars, sit-up decline benches (although I rarely do sit-ups), and various beams, bars and benches. I probably won’t use most of it, but I do plan to use the pull-up bars in the future (when I actually start running again).

It’s been tough to find time to ride out here in Seattle for the summer, but at least the gym has stationary bikes. Boringest bike ride ever, but at least my legs haven’t forgotten how to pedal.

Aren’t you going to be there all summer? Craigslist now and resell at the end.
