Hyatt Place on New York Ave., near North Capitol Street

The brick building in the middle was moved down the block earlier this year, as in the entire building. The building on the left is in the process of being moved. I believe the smaller building to the right was recently moved or will be moved. It’s currently hoisted up on beams and suspended in mid-air.

ParticipantGive that rider some credit, he (only a guy would do that right?) didn’t park on the section with the sign. :p

ParticipantAny guesses on the location of that sign?

ParticipantThe flooded stairs at the Lincoln Memorial with the CaBis is a great (and hilarious) shot! Poor tourists.

ParticipantWell, I got caught in the downpour too, so the joke was sort of on me too. The rain isn’t normally a problem, but the air temperature dropped suddenly, as the rain moved in. I actually started shivering briefly.
It didn’t last too long though. Maybe 5-10 minutes.

ParticipantThese guys probably enjoyed the rain.

ParticipantFlat on Jamieson Ave, Alexandria, on the way home Wednesday night around 10:30.
Repair unsuccessful due to ruptured spare tube. A patch would have done but alas I walked my steed the other 4.5 miles home in a pleasant midnight rain. Wouldn’t want to do it again bit it was enlightening!

ParticipantI recently hurt my leg and had to give up riding my road bikes for awhile. I’ve had a hard time even walking just one city block lately. However, a friend lent me a folding bicycle and it has literally transformed my life. I find that I can get just about anywhere on it, and when needed, fold it up and wheel it on/off MetroRail or in/out of a car trunk. I now have a new found respect for foldies, and mobility for the handicapped.

ParticipantBoomer,
Can you show us a pic of it folded up? This bike retails for only about $350. Does it feel like a relatively well designed bike? I’m asking because I’ve been thinking about buying a foldie for when I travel on vacation but can’t justify a Brompton for 1-2 trips a year.
I’m super glad you have found a way to get around and have fun at the same time. Being incapacitated really sucks.
Thanks.

ParticipantRiding with GuyContinental around Davis, WV. This area has some of the best mountain biking (and it took us damn near 2 hours to go 8 miles!).

The new Loro Piana store at CityCenterDC. Would you pay $37,000? For a coat? Apparently they sell a handmade coat that costs that much.
I didn’t buy any of their coats. Looking through the window was free.

ParticipantI’m not sophisticated enough to tell the difference between that coat and a $7000 coat, but I’m sure it’s $30000 coatier.

ParticipantAnd yet we can’t tax the 1% more to rebuild Memorial Bridge….
