Ok, this isn’t me riding and I wasn’t actually riding at all; I was walking. *But* it looks like the English moors have lots of cycling options in the bridleways (open to horses, cyclists, and of course walkers). This photo was from a walk in Exmoor a few days ago. Our walk in Dartmoor today was almost entirely on trail that was also bike friendly, but would have been a great workout. The roads through Dartmoor were also pretty cycling friendly, in that there was good visibility. (Yes, folks do ride road bikes on the 60mph shoulderless/narrow country roads here, though honestly that proposition is a little terrifying to me. People also riding [in the lane] on the 70mph dual carriageway, so I guess crazy is all relative.)

A familiar view but I never stop to look at it…until today.

I love a good rain ride, especially when I have nowhere to be. I got super soaked tonight and it was awesome. Seen here at Huntley Meadows.

On the way out today, it was 6 toner cartridges for recycling. On the way home, it was dry cleaning and groceries.

Overall view on the way out:

Just don’t tell my granddaughter I used “her” trailer for all this!

The hollowed-out Uline Arena, near the NoMa Metro station. This is where the new REI flagship store will open. The building is famous for being the site of The Beatles’ first U.S. concert, in 1964.

I rarely ride here, but it was really fun to get in a couple laps this afternoon. Good day for ducks too.

I thought I’d try that new-fangled Cabi thingy today. I’m hooked. When I went to vote, I did discover there needs to be a station near Cora Kelly school. The corner of Commonwealth & East Glebe would probably draw lots of users from Auburn Village.

We’ve been adding pins on the crowdsourcing map for years in that area. Plenty of people want bike stations near the school, near the Birchmere and in Arlandria and Potomac Yard-Alexandria in general. The mayoral primary results don’t seem to be promising though. I think the presumptive next mayor, Silberberg, is not really a supporter of cycling and bike planning. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve read some of her comments in news articles over the years.

Sunset on the planet Mars! It only looks like NoMa. NoMa actually standards for the Northern Martian Continent.

Not sure how I missed this post when it was originally posted but I’m sticking with my very DC appropriate statement … No Comment!

Very bright red rising sun this morning too.
