Boomer Cycles
ParticipantToday’s road conditions weren’t too bad as the snow and sleet melted on treated road surfaces. However the wind chill froze the water on my components, so I lost use of my front and rear derailleurs, and had to limp home like a single speed, in a much lower gear than I wanted!

ParticipantMiserable CaBi ride last night past the Tidal Basin to East Potomac Park, for the NPS open house. I wasn’t really dressed for winter riding. I wasn’t planning to ride yesterday, but then I remembered the open house and I didn’t think it was too far a ride. It wasn’t, but it was long enough to be miserable in the cold rain.

ParticipantSights from this afternoon’s laps around Hains Point. Lots of geese, fog, a few planes, but no Powerful Pete sighting!

Good ol’ Boomer…
I’m happy that you were the first cyclist through to enjoy the fruits of my labor. But after I almost bit the pavement the last time we met on this ice sheet, I knew I had to open a single track before the next storm hit. I also just rode it this morning with the fresh snowfall, and it worked:-) Stay upright, and ride on!

ParticipantBy far the coolest bike that I’ve seen yet this Freezing Saddles season during my snowy ride around the hood this morning

The new Capital Bikeshare snow measurement station. At least it kind of works that way.
