ParticipantWell, the food at the hospital is excellent. And they have Wifi. so its all good.
Oh, him?? He’s fine. We should have him up and crashing again in no time.
(apparently a minor concussion with a few other concerns that mean he is being monitored. Man does his face look cool!)
My one regret is that I did not get a photo of HIM flying through the air .

ParticipantOy, sorry about the concussion. His knees doing okay? That left one looks mighty vulnerable in the pic! We can only imagine the rest of the aeronautics…. this has not been a good week for flying, with rockets or without.

Sigh. Right, exactly. I had that very same thought as we were leaving the ER last week for a gymnastics neck injury (okay now, for now!).

AH! You have been outed! I now know who wheels&wings is.
(it’s not a picture of him – but that is what he did today). He magically managed to land on his face, making a mess of it – and not a single nick or scratch on any other part of his body. I dont know how he did it. I have not seen what his helmet currently looks like.

Ouch! Poor kid. I wonder if the helmet was any help. I sometimes wish the girls could wear those on beam. :+)

ParticipantWe were talking the other day here on the forum about how effective helmets are. Well, this is one case where the helmet probably saved him from a lot worse lacerations. Judging from the parts of him that did in fact meet the ground.

Free pumpkins? Wow. Are there any left? Would love to can some pumpkin butter… What do you do with it?

ParticipantYesterday, I biked the entire Blue Line of the Metro, but I also finished my video for my Red Line ride. I’ve now got only the Green (next) and Silver (phase I and II) lines remaining!
During this ride, I actually ended up doing a full century (added about 3 miles at the end so that I would hit 100 miles). Of the 4 centuries I have done in my life, this is the only one I didn’t plan to do (my plan was originally an 85 mile ride, but backtracking and missed turns add up over time).

ParticipantOn Thursday I took a bunch of pictures of the sunrise in Alexandria and Google conveniently made them into this little animation. Definitely was a beautiful morning.
I’ll miss the sunrise for a while, but I will definitely enjoy the sunsets.

Not sure if any are left, as I seldom pass by this intersection. We bake ’em for use later in pie, muffins, pancakes, soup, etc. And toast the seeds for snacking. They’ll usually keep for months if kept intact, cool, and dry. Unfortunately the lot mostly has medium-to-large pumpkins that tend not to be as good as smaller ones.

I spent a lot of time during that ride cursing the wind, quite literally saying, “F*** you, wind!”
Also, I may have overdone it because I hit that point in tiredness where one only has enough brainpower to 1) think or 2) concentrate on pedaling
