Well, I did this ride about 5 months ago (May 31), and creating a video for it has been sitting on the back burner for a while, so I finally sat down and got everything together for my 2nd of 6 rides to bike the Metro. By far the easiest, as the Yellow Line is the shortest of the lines (only 17 stations, not counting Rush Plus), but I am back in the mood to bike the Metro.

That’s an awesome video. I love all the traffic on the 4MR/PY switchback.

Did you get yelled at for not dismounting in the Carlyle tunnel? There’s usually a surly security guard.

I did not encounter a security guard at that time. It was a Saturday afternoon, but I imagine I’d have trouble if it was rush hour!

Took the day off to go for a bike ride with a friend; I don’t really have time to do that on weekends, so this is a good use of vacation.

Came down Berryville Rd for the first time toward the end of the loop. Beautiful.

Mostly just the rolling countryside. We are lucky to have so many pleasant country roads so close to the city.

Turns out I routed us over some gravel; that plus the wet roads meant the bike was pretty gritty.

Mostly, it was just fantastic to spend the good part of the day in the saddle.

The color did not change, so I think the bridge was angry.

I came in 2nd place! (The first place rider lapped me for the second time right before the finish line… and I crossed the finish line right after him… so that counts as 2nd place, right???)
