Tom quit smoking three weeks ago. I didn’t know that when I mentioned to him yesterday what the pink signs were about. By God if he didn’t show up today for the ride. Thanks Tom, precious few others did to escort the ride on it’s final miles. I made the classic mistake here that everyone makes when photographing a hill. Unless you consciously compensate, you will flatten the hill by tilting the camera to match the grade. While these riders were cresting the hill and pretty much done with the pushing, this is actually uphill. Plus the zoom on my camera wasn’t working and I stopped too late to get them on the steeper grade. Still a nice illustration of the generosity of spirit that made us Freds feel so welcome on this ride! Really nice people!
I got rear ended crossing Key Bridge into Virginia today. I wasn’t so much shaken up as flabbergasted. But for whatever reason I failed to get the tag number. A bus driver honked so I had a witness. The assailant threw his arm up as if to say WTH? so I know it was intentional. Sorry I wasn’t quick enough on the uptake to get this guy off the road and locked up for attempted murder. I guess I’d be dead if I didn’t have a trailer. As it was I got a boost! Luckily this little redneck geek was driving a tiny red pickup truck and my slow moving vehicle sign didn’t get hooked under his bumper.
Oh no! It’s scary that there are [ ] like that out there! Are you ok otherwise? Do you know if the bus driver got any info? So sorry this happened to you.
