hello kelonwheelsThese pics look great–clearly a really fun ride. I wish I had been there with all of you. How did I not know this was going on? Obviously I missed some communication channel.

Like the Bikenetic Facebook Page and you’ll never miss another shop ride! And yes, it was a really, really fun ride!

ParticipantPhotos from yesterday’s “Rod and Karen’s ‘Where the F*$# Are We?’ Gran Fondo. This was supposed to be a “road-only” ride. So much for courses and plans. Great seeing how well the Dogma F8 handles single-track and mud.

ParticipantYesterday climbed Blue Mountain, Naked Mountain and Mt. Weather. The climbs were challenging but the couples of miles of unexpected gravel were even more so. Need to research my routes better.

ParticipantStarting out on the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail (East side, south of Benning):
Just over the railroad tracks:
I used Bladensburg Rd to connect the tributary trails to the riverwalk. The road was surprisingly fine for its width (30mph speed limit, no shoulders). I’m a little hesitant to use this route regularly given the reputation of Trinidad and Carver/Langston.

I like using Bladensburg Rd through that area, too. However, I have only ridden through there during the day, so I imagine you might think differently about any night rides.

ParticipantLast Saturday I was in Harrisonburg for the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Festival. I did the 50-mile ride as my fitness level had taken a hit when I pulled a muscle in my lower back a month before, so in 2015 I will attempt the infamous 100-mile ride. My laptop needed to be fixed for the past week, so I’m finally able to upload these pics now.
Strava route of the 50-mile ride: http://www.strava.com/activities/171153529
(top) lots of hills for this one (didn’t mean to focus in on this rider, but his kit was pretty cool anyways); (bottom) I was having fun because the first half of the ride is far easier than the second half
(top) heading toward the town of Broadway; (bottom) corny scenery
(top) the first pit stop at the halfway mark in Timberville; (bottom) with many more hills to climb, the ride got harder as the sun finally broke through the clouds and things began to heat up
(top) at the second pit stop, halfway up a long climb, a delicious platter of food awaited riders; (bottom) my new favorite food to recharge: pretzel stick topped with a banana slice, peanut butter, and a vanilla wafer
(left) cows, MOOO; (right) finished the ride, ready to eat a whole cow, MOOO!

Participant^^^I really like the pit stop food! Every ride should have one of those
Looks like a great ride.
