If Drevil’s wig idea is too much for some of you guys, Ooooh, lime green helmet covers [emoji3]

Funny – that’s precisely why I voted for Velcro instead of slap bands…
Speaking as one of the few people above the age of 12 who the short slap bands fit, they actually only work in the warm weather when not wearing multiple layers. So not during FS!
(and btw….. If they don’t fit you ever, that means you started out with good bone density….[emoji16])

giving away extras to non-participants? This is blasphemy.
Yeah I kinda agree with this. Aren’t they supposed to help us identify each other? I don’t wanna mistake a ninja for a fellow fs-er….. [emoji15]

I like the zipper pulls. They’re fairly distinctive, and a good way to start up conversations about biking with skiers who think they’re lift tickets or whatever.
Easy DIY solution for people who want FS2019 zipper pulls: FS2017 zipper pulls + black Sharpie.

I looked into getting custom helmet covers when you first floated the idea a few years ago. IIRC, some of the concerns were:
— People with Lumos helmets didn’t want to cover up their helmets.
— Some people* won’t wear helmet covers because they look goofy.
— The people who will use helmet covers mostly already have them.
— A custom helmet cover would probably be in the $16-20 range, and even an off-the-shelf helmet cover like this one would be at least $10.
— The production time for getting custom helmet covers is longer, so the helmet covers wouldn’t arrive in time for the start of Freezing Saddles. All that said, I’m happy to go with helmet covers if that’s what the group wants.
* Not me. I whip my helmet cover out at the sight of the first raindrop.

ParticipantI think we should have full FS winter kit!
Actually, I’m fine with whatever everyone else wants as I will ride “stealth” anyway.

ParticipantI will not be unhappy with whatever is decided. Full kit, wigs, whatever – I’ll be flying the colors this winter.

We have less than three pages of discussion on this matter. Has anything on this forum ever been decided in less than three pages?

On the contrary, I WILL be unhappy with whatever is decided, even if I agree with it.

I think we need three pages of discussion on whether three pages of discussion is sufficient!

ParticipantHi everyone! I’m just learning all about this tonight. Someone on the Women&Bicycles:Washington DC Region Facebook group recommended this and I’m so excited to be finding a bunch of other stubborn fools who probably biked in the snow last week! I have a dumb question: does the competition end on the first day of Spring? I haven’t been able to find a timeline in any of the posts and it’s not in the draft registration form. Thanks!

It ends on the last day of winter (i.e., the day before the first day of spring).
