Boomer CyclesParticipantHere goes a backlog of missed postings (which violate the 24 hour rule) as life got too busy to keep up; I realize that they may be disqualified, but beg for mercy…
belated 02/15/25: the last remaining snowman (my 10th so far) found on Rollins Drive, Alexandria VA while on Conte’s Old Town Roll ride

Boomer CyclesParticipantBelated 02/14/25: mural by Eric B Hicks found in an alley behind the Sixth Presbyterian Church on 16th Street NW (and Kennedy St NW) DC . Eric’s murals can be found across DC often highlighting immigrants (he is a Liberian immigrant) and usually include his signature hummingbird

Belated 02/13/25: My bike’s brake lever hood leaning against a Hex symbol (of the 16-point variety) on a private home in Lynhaven, Alexandria VA. Hex symbols may or may not have any religious or pagan meaning but tourists certainly like to buy them anyway.February 16, 2025 at 11:59 pm #1137225sszibler

This neon sign at Glen Echo has always seemed beautiful too me, artistically. It could only be better with a trolley at the doorstep instead of that POS car that ruined the trolleys and attendance at Glen Echo (not to mention the danger biking on McArthur BLV).

Dachs6ParticipantFeb 16, and I have finally take a photo with publicly commissioned art installed by Dzia. Recall that I posted something made to look like his style in January, but this is an actual piece…and it is part of a much larger and complex mural set that lines the walls of a major cycling tunnel that carries cyclists under a major secondary road (N16) that goes between Boom and Temse.

cvcalhounParticipantSad to say, I’m out of this one. Due to a broken leg, I can’t bike to find public art. And due to having had to switch my status to “Friend,” I’m not eligible anyway. But I’ll look forward to seeing what everyone else does. And if this competition happens again next year, I’ll be back.
