Participant@kbikeva. thanks for the catch! I have no idea how this happened. The site is supposed to give me a new object every day without recycling. But clearly it screwed up this time. I have now fixed it, but my apologies to anyone who went out last night.

ParticipantAre Temple and Synagogue considered the same for purposes of this game?

Participant@celestesollod: For purposes of this competition, any Jewish congregation – regardless of whether it is called a temple, synagogue, shul, Hebrew congregation, or anything else – is a synagogue. Similarly, any Christian congregation, even if it is called a temple, is a church. For anyone who has temple on their card, I will count only the Mormon Temple or a temple of a religion other than Christianity or Judaism. This is not to disparage any particular religion; it is merely to draw a line so the same building is not counted for two different objects.
I did have to think about whether the Mormon Temple should be treated as a church or a temple, and my ultimate decision was temple. There is apparently some dispute about whether Mormons are Christians, but I was definitely not going to wade into that morass. (They say they are Christians, and I am not about to argue with anyone’s characterization of their own religion.) I ultimately put it in the category of temple rather than church because it is my understanding that it is not a congregation, but rather a special purpose edifice for particular ceremonies.

A trifecta! Not only is “flowers” in the shop name, it also contains “Violet”, plus some frozen flowers in the planter

I *was* going to take some pictures of the bouqets at “She Loves Me” in Eckington, but the person working solo in the florist seemed a bit uneasy with my presence outside the store (can’t say I blame them), so I instead went to this flower art at Tanner Park.

FlowersThis one was hard! Biked around forever and only saw the little window picture. But then the corner shop on my block ended up having a bunch of real ones right by the door.

Participant@nadine, sounds like you got an overly officious cop. If you’re taking a photo from the sidewalk, you are not on private property, and taking a photo of private property from a place you’re allowed to be is perfectly legal. People may be a bit jumpy these days due to the rise in antisemitism, and I can understand not wanting to antagonize a cop even if what he’s saying is wrong, but this doesn’t need to be a general warning.
