ParticipantSigned! Excellent. Agreed!
But…. traveling north to south, once a cyclist gets into Virginia, where would the cyclist go? There are no bike lanes or paths there, and the roads are not bike friendly, particularly during rush hour.
Nirvana would be a bike path that follows the beltway.

Fixed that for you.

ParticipantAgreed. Done. Signed.
And I noticed that you can (thankfully) replace the Virginia Governor’s name!

I drive daily. I could do the trip to and from work daily but it would be a little over 50 miles and I don’t know if I could sustain that for too long.

ParticipantYou all laugh, but as some of you long timers know I had a near miss almost two years ago when many in my company were moved to our campus in Rockville (really Gaithersburg). Two bike commuters continued to commute from north Arlington to the MD offices during the first National Bike Challenge. It takes a toll commuting like that — at least for mere mortals. Both ended up either with injuries or needing to cut back for schedule reasons.
It would actually be a pretty straight shot there from Vienna where I live, but the infrastructure is so far from existence it almost feels pie in the sky to me.

ParticipantI tried to change Bob McDonnell from the title, but it wont let me.
I got a letter from the secretary of the Maryland Governor yesterday commending me (us) for the petition. He told me to speak with the representatives in that county so I sent them an email.
