ParticipantI’ve ordered a lot from Western Bikeworks as well. They have a wide selection. They will also price match although I’ve found that their prices are already super competitive. They have super sales on stuff sometimes. For most things though, I go to Conte’s in Old Town and special order from Bill.

ParticipantI’ve had good luck with Universal Cycles for things that I didn’t want to special order through the LBS and have gotten some pretty good prices on things. (And since I don’t have a favorite LBS, I don’t feel quite as guilty as I otherwise might.)

ParticipantBike Tires Direct has been good to me, and they sell MUCH more than tires. I got a sweet showers pass jacket off of them recently that was at least $50 cheaper than anywhere else was selling the jacket for, and it shipped fast. Like Nashbar, they do random huge discounts, so you never really know what you’re going to find until you look.

ParticipantUniversal Cycles, JensonUSA, and ModernBike.com have all been good for me, including custom wheels from UC.

ParticipantJust to follow up, I’d ignored my $50 package sitting in Customs, because Chain Reaction told me it would eventually get sent back and then they’d issue me a refund. I purchased the parts from another on-line vendor . . . and then my original package just mysteriously appears the other day. So now I have two of everything.

Thanks for the update.
After you started this thread, I ended up buying 2 pairs of tires from CRC because the deals were too good to pass up. It was free shipping, but I tacked on the $5.99 so they’d pay more attention to it and speed up shipping. I got it 2 days later (on Feb 1) without issues.
I used to order Shimano components from them because of their insane deals (I was able to buy Shimano stuff cheaper from CRC than what US dealers were able to buy from their suppliers/QBP), but now that they can’t sell their stuff, I won’t go there as often.

ParticipantI bought a bike from performance biking online for 400$ on Feb 8th and got a confirmation email about my order. I never heard anything there after regarding its shipping or anything else.
Now afwhen I log into their site, I dont see my order.I tried contacting them but this was the response I got
‘I apologize, Performance Bicycle went through bankruptcy and closed. Their assets were auctioned off. I do not have contact information for that company as they are completely closed and out of business. Amaincycling bought up their domain name only, not the business or its liabilities and we will be selling products on the website.’Can some one please help on how I can get my bike or atleast a refund.

ParticipantYou can call your bank and have them issue a chargeback, but I am not sure how this works with bankruptcy. Check your credit card online statement to see if the charge was refunded or not. You may want to search the web for “chargeback bankruptcy”. Here is Performance Bike website on the Internet Archive:

As far as I know, their remaining stores will close on Sunday March 3rd.

I doubt the OP exists, but good advice.

ParticipantReceived emails from both Performance and Nashbar today, with the exact same email body and apparently the same inventory.
