ParticipantFor those of us who don’t have a shower at the end of our commutes, there is always the dilemma of how to clean up and face the world without offending others and ruining clothes. I have tried baby wipes, facial cleanser wipes, and soap and water sponge bath. Baby wipes make you smell like baby butt, the facial cleanser things don’t get me too clean, and the sponge bath is really not efficient. Thank goodness for Action Wipes! I got a free sample at Interbike. They are large, sturdy, really make me feel clean, and – best of all – don’t make you smell like baby butt. In fact, they smell like a spa (tea tree oil and eucalyptus). And – they are sturdy enough to wash and re-use. I get a box of 25 at a time, so they’re about a buck a piece. Shipping was free last time I ordered and they were delivered in a few days. And – no – I don’t work for the company. I just think this is a great product. http://www.actionwipes.com/

ParticipantEven after using baby wipes, I would be fortunate to smell like baby butt. Good suggestion on the Action Wipes….may have to try!

ParticipantThanks for the head’s up on these. I have a shower at work but I can see how they would be useful on those occasions when I drive out of town for a day trip bike ride. Nothing is so annoying than facing a long crive back home while stinky and sticky.
They should give them out to the marathoners heading home on metro….I’m just saying….

ParticipantWish I had these today . . . we got an email a couple of days ago that our buidling is considered “closed” today due to the federal holiday, even though my colleagues and I are working. Therefore the locker room and gym are closed. I considered my options, and not wishing to offend my co-workers, I rode metro. I need to order these because I’m sure the same thing will happen on the day after New Year’s Day (or whenever the feds get off on that weekend). Or are they available at my LBS?

ParticipantWhat about unscented baby wipes? There’s a lot of variation in baby wipes.

Unscented baby wipes are what I’ve been using for bout 6 months and they work great for me. I can’t recommend the Wegmen’s house brand, they tend to ball up easily, making wiping down a bit of a chore. Thicker name brand ones seem to work better.

ParticipantI bought these things (Action Wipes) and I think they’re great. I keep a few in the bag at all times and I have the rest in my locker at work. I don’t really sweat more than a few drops in this temperature so it is all I need when I get to work. I sweat less on this 30 mile round trip than I do walking 3 minutes to the metro in the summer.
