As discussed in the introduction to the February meeting, we are interested in getting new voices involved in the BAC. We’re starting the discussion on this thread. Comment here with your thoughts on:

    THE WHO

    1) What groups should have voices on the BAC?
    2) Who should have input on biking in Arlington?
    3) What existing groups should we work with?

    THE HOW

    A) What are the barriers to getting new voices on the BAC
    B) How can we overcome those barriers?
    C) How can we reach out to and work with the groups and people identified above?

    What else am I missing?

    Looking forward to your thoughts.

Having some of the youth from Phoenix involved would be cool.

I’d like the BAC to continue to represent local resident cyclists and bike shops. I want people who live, work, go to school, and ride around Arlington to continue to be able to communicate our interests to the County government and federal agencies responsible for the bike trail network and connections to adjacent jurisdictions, and counter influence from large commercial interests with their own agenda e.g. possible Amazon HQ, Dockless Bikeshare companies, etc.

This is in the works, but we haven’t worked out how. Suggestions?
