Bridge 23 on the Mount Vernon Trail in Dyke Marsh opened on Sunday with a Grand Opening including NPS, Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail, Friends of Dyke Marsh, Federal Highway Authority, VKM Contracting, Congressman Beyer and Fairfax County Supervisor Dan Storck.

The new bridge is 14 feet wide with safety handrails. The bridge was constructed with helical piles sunk about 270 feet. These piles should last at least 100 years.

Are these videos monetized?  (Thinking of another low-stress “do from the comfort of my home” way to support the Friends…)

Nice. And at 270′ (!) there should be no settlement, meaning the bridge surface should remain level for the life of the bridge. And relatively smooth, if the board surface is renewed periodically.

If we get to 500 subscribers we can monetize. Just 365 subscribers to go.
