Hi All, just joined this evening. I’m looking to find some folks who would like to ride either during the day (I work from home) or in the evenings. I’m fairly new to the sport, I have a road bike and usually ride for an hour at about 15 mph. Would love to find some regular buddies to go on different rides in Arlington or around town.

You can contact me off line at bmuskovitz@verizon.net

    Thanks,

    Ben

Hey Ben. Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find plenty of riders here to accompany you, and the more you get involved the more likely you will cross paths with members on the roads. You would be surprised how many impromptu rides just happen when members meet. I generally ride/commute to work early morning and late afternoon (Rosslyn to Fairfax in the AM, reverse in the afternoon), but I have been putting in some miles on the weekends. The next time I am out for a weekend jaunt I will let you know.

Keep an eye out for the next forum happy hour too, it’s a great way to meet people so that you can recognize them out on the trails :)

    Ben,
Here’s a calendar I threw together that highlights a few of the group rides in the area – by no means an exhaustive list, and it really only covers shop/organized group rides. For weekday daytime rides, you’ll find a lot of people head over to Hains Point to do loops. Many of the racers/competitive riders will train, but there are plenty of people out for a more leisurely 15mph ride too.
    It may be useful:

And check out Potomac Pedalers. They have a robust calendar of rides, broken out to different cyclists speeds, distances, and terrains. A good place to find cyclists that go about your speed.
