A bike chain menorah, made by POTM and her friend. She actually ordered a bike chain from Amazon, with the help of her friend and YouTube figured out how to take apart the chain, then assembled it. And since it only required 18 links, I get a bike chain as a bonus!

It is in fact particularly traditional to use oil instead of candles. I thought lighting some bike chain lube would be especially cool, but POTM thought this would not be a good idea.

This is such a neat idea and a great present for someone who’s into bikes. I might steal this idea for this year. I hope you don’t mind, lordofthemark.

Note “bikkur cholim” is the mitzvah (Good deed/commandment) of visiting the sick. Glad to see the mitzvah of bike puns is alive and well in Baltimore.
