When it drops to below 40F? How about with wind?

And just remember, any size pizza can be a personal sized pizza if you believe in yourself!

Same question to you – do you really ride with sandals and socks when it’s 40F or below and windy, and it’s raining too?

I think y’all are messing with me now.

I wear socks with sandals until it’s cold enough for my winter riding boots. (I think I have the Shimano version of the Lakes). When it gets really cold, I switch to snow boots.

It’s my footwear of choice for Snipe hunting. And everyone knows that snipes only come out when it 40F or below and windy/rainy.

If it’s in the lower 40’s in the am, I might throw a pair of shoe covers over the sandals just for the ride in.

Heh. Happy hunting. And fix that photo rotate bug while you’re at it.

Alright, dasgeh and Crikey, I’ll consider getting sandals sooner than next spring. Thanks!

If you downloading the pics from Apple’s icloud then you will have to rotate them before you upload to the forum. For some reason vertical pics always show up horizontal in the cloud for me. Very annoying.

Maybe that’s what it is. I usually email a photo that I took with the iPhone to myself, download the photo as an attachment from the email, then upload the attachment here.

I have my Vasque hiking boots, which held up fine last winter, but they’re not the greatest for pedaling.

I accidentally discovered this variation on the southbound route through Crystal City posted by Emm, by missing the turn to 27th St.

    https://goo.gl/maps/FodbDo6HyyF2

I like it. While I was looking for the turn to get to Potomac Ave (and still missing it :D) I looked over my shoulder and saw a line of cars trailing behind me on the left lane on Clark. Sorry folks! The tweaked route lets me get to the right lane of Clark, out of the way of motorists, then make the right turn to Potomac without a traffic light, with little motorist traffic to speak of in between.

Pretty sweet fall evening ride overall.

That’s the way I’ve been going! It works just fine for me. I kept screwing up cutting through the airport. Are you riding Potomac Ave all the way to Main Line Blvd? Or do you get back on 4 Mile run and get back on the MVT?

Blew out a tire yesterday on Wilson just east of Veitch. Construction there was not kind to my (too thin) tires. 3600 miles is pretty good, just wish I could have gotten six more out of them and changed the tires at home instead of buying a $25 throw away tire just to get home. I know, I should have booted it, but who has cash nowadays?

Too late for you (and you may not have had this option), but I’ve booted with the cardboard box the spare inner tube came in.

yeah, my head was not in the game yesterday. I’m sure i could have improvised faster than they changed my tire.
