ParticipantNo need to go out and spend money on bib shorts when you get a bunch of free regular shorts from the NBC.

My clothes fit, for the most part – my issue is more one of “spandex age v. exposure to UVA,” which leads to UVB (you view my butt). I try to strategically pull my jersey over my shorts, but I really just need to get new ones.
I think you mean UVC (You View Crack)

ParticipantThanks for being my rabbit up Custis. I PR’ed the full WB trail by more than 3 minutes. See you Monday for pancakes!

ParticipantI haven’t tried bib shorts because I have different sizing for shorts and shirts. So bib shorts would either be too small or too large on one half, no matter which size I get.

Every manufacturer cuts them a bit differently. If you search long enough you can probably find one that’s oompa-loompa shaped. (Excellent thigh room, but not aero, unfortunately.)

ParticipantI started wearing bibs a couple of years ago when I started doing centuries and grand Fondo rides after a decade in shorts for utilitarian commuting. I now love them so for comfort and form that I no longer use bike shorts. I buy my bibs off of the clearance rack at the Performance Bike store in Tysons at 30-50% discount so as to not violate the Velo N+1 rule.

GuestIncluded product testing: http://www.rei.com/product/780999/sea-to-summit-head-net
CONS: Complicates water drinking and sweat/snot wiping. Dorkiness factor is undeniably, possibly off the charts, high. Just riding around like that on roads and trails?– people can see you, you know.
PROS: Completely eliminates bugs in eyes, nose, and mouth. Completely. Eliminates.May 15, 2015 at 8:58 pm #1030271KLizotte

Based on my experience on the Chesapeake Bay, haven’t needed this while moving. But the second you stop…

ParticipantNot cycling, but it shows the guy walking around in it.

ParticipantFor those who saw a guy in a yellow jersey changing a (rear wheel, of course) flat under the George Mason Memorial Bridge – THIS is the culprit.

ParticipantTrollheim claimed another victim last night. It was wet, but not raining. I crossed Roosevelt Bridge (westbound) and was coming down the wooden boardwalk toward the parking lot for Roosevelt Island. Two tourists on CaBis were coming up the MVT and turned left in front of me without stopping at the stop sign. I tried to brake but crashed, as did the cyclist behind me. The bike is okay. My left hip got the worst of it and some road rash along my left side.
Couldn’t really talk to the tourists as they spoke very little English.
