    Two water fountains on the Mount Vernon Trail are not working. One is at the stone bridge, approximately mile 5.2. The other is at the rest stop at Fort Hunt Park about mile 2.5. This means there is no water available from Mount Vernon to Belle Haven Park, a distance of about 7 1/2 miles.

    This week the Park Service is renovating the water fountain at the stone bridge.

    The fountain installation is completed. The new fountain has a water bottle filler as well as a doggy spout. Mighty nice.

    In Alexandria, the block of E Del Ray Ave between Commonwealth Ave and Clyde Ave at Judy Lowe Neighborhood Park was closed off this morning.  It may continue to be so until after the November 5th election.  I think that’s where JD Vance lives from a posting I saw elsewhere
