Another commemorative plaque in Herndon for “The Yellow House,” one of the town’s notable historic houses. It was built in the mid 1800s on Elden St and overlooked downtown Herndon. Madison Whipple, the Herndon Postmaster in the 1860s, lived in this house, as did Herndon’s first undertaker, Thomas Reed. The house now sits on the corner of Oak and Pearl Sts, a stone’s throw from the back yard to Elden St.

Monument to Daniel Webster who seems to have had a pretty long political career serving as a senator for both New Hampshire and Massachusetts and the Secretary of State in 3 administrations.

Statue of Queen Isabella, outside the Organization of American States. I like how it isn’t one of those Roman or equestrian style statues like many others in DC.
