A memorial to Francis Asbury, a pioneer bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He must have been pretty important to have this large statue in Mt Pleasant!

Margaret “Peg” Sante (1930-2002) combined traditional homemaking and civic activism lived on Beall Ave in a 1890 house. The City of Rockville dedicated this local park a year after death. https://peerlessrockville.org/historic-rockville/peerless-people-2/notable-rockville-women-of-the-20th-century/

A memorial to Jules Jusserand, French Ambassador to the US who was a friend of Teddy Roosevelt. They were apparently hiking buddies and there is an amusing account of them crossing the creek.

This was the first memorial erected on federal property to a foreign diplomat.

Daniel Serrano was a 16 year old boy who lived around the block from my house. He died in a hit and run when crossing the street on 12/29/18. They never did find the person who ran him down. This is a memorial that his friends constructed for him at the scene of the accident. It was a little disheveled so I straightened it up.
