A statue of George Mason on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University. There are a number of quotes around the base of the statue including one from the VA Declaration of Rights. The Virginia Declaration of Rights, which Mason principally authored, served as a basis for the United States Bill of Rights, a document of which he has been deemed a father. Mason prepared the first draft of the Virginia Declaration of Rights in 1776, and his words formed much of the text adopted by the final Revolutionary Virginia Convention. He also wrote a constitution for the state.

Can that just be us identifying the name or names in the reply or does it have to be an actual sign with the words on it? Also, bike in the picture rule. Has that gone away? I’m not seeing many bikes.

I’d like to see the statue, plaque etc and yes the bike needs to be in the photo

Frederick Douglass at the entrance to the NY Historical Society. There is a QR code to make it a talking statue.

1/9/2022 Monuments The city of Madrid dedicated this statue to Eloy Gonzalo in 1901. He was a Spanish soldier who distinguished himself during the war in Cuba!

US National Arboretum. Why is pansy used as a term of weakness? They made it through this weather!

Marconi Memorial in Mt Pleasant to commemorate the inventor of wireless telegraph and the radio. This gilded memorial is apparently one of the rare ones in DC to commemorate an individual associated with technology and was originally going to be in Meridian Hill Park with the Dante memorial.
