This lab was named for Dr. Holland who had a passion for blood research and served on the American Red Cross board from 1970 until his death in 1985. https://redcrosschat.org/2022/02/04/black-history-month-honoring-dr-jerome-holland/

This memorial plaque honoring the 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and the Military Intelligence Service is located in front of 719 Pine St, Herndon, VA. The aforementioned Japanese-American units from WWII are the most highly decorated units in military history. They exemplified duty, honor, and country to the utmost while taking on some of the toughest assignments of the war.

Ox Hill Battlefield Park in Fairfax is home of the historic Civil War battle in which two Union generals perished and thousands of casualties were suffered by both Confederate and Union soldiers. Monuments for Union Generals Isaac Stevens and Philip Kearny, who died in this battle, are located here. The park has a trail that tells the story of this battle, also known as the Battle of Chantilly. Signs, monuments and interpretive kiosks at the park present information about the battle and its significance and offer insights into some of the men who fought here.

The DC War Memorial commemorates all the people from DC that died during World War I. It is the only memorial from DC on the National Mall.

Memorial to John Hopkins, Church of St Martin-in-the-Field, Chestnut Hill PA, who might be the medical school namesake, but having a challenge tracing his story as there are hoards of them in the Philly area.
