I hate to get in the way of a good rant, but I don’t think that’s actually true.

To the two idiots racing each other on the W&OD heading west bound around 3:00 pm….especially the nimrod wearing the BikeArlington jersey!
1) At least the older gentleman that was crushing you called his pass before he blew by me doing 30+ MPH
2) You didn’t even bother to call your pass nearly clipping me and the lady in front of me…. thank god your were spitting your lungs out or I would have had no warning at all
3) You’re an embarrassment to the jersey, either remove it and never put it on again, or learn a little respect for others on then trailBTW, there is a speed limit on the trail
now I need to know who it was

Could be anyone, the jerseys aren’t that hard to acquire. That said, I’m glad I wore an orange one today.

ParticipantI got a “thank you!” for an “on your left” on the 15th St cycletrack today. It’s amazing how much a little bit of politeness can improve your day.

ParticipantMe: Riding up the Custis in Rosslyn today, just past the Marriott.
You: Dapper gentleman in a suit walking up the trail.I called my pass, and in a British accent, I got a “Cheers Mate” in response. Thanks for making calling passes more worthwhile than normal.

Are you sure it wasn’t an Australian accent? That sounds more Aussie than Brit…

To an american, the British and Australian accents are the same, and both are best epitomized by Sean Connery.

ParticipantWuznt me. My fastest speed is flat tire.
BTW here are the “rules” for the WOD. It sez, and I quote
Do not speed when cycling.
This is consistent with previous discussions of speed limits on this forum. Apparently the only trail with an actual speed limit is the MVT which is on fed jurisdiction.
and both are best epitomized by Sean Connery
No, no, no. Connery was Russia!

Towpath & capital crescent trail are both 15MPH.

ParticipantSaw a cyclist stopped by a cop on the PA Ave. bike lane for running a red light this morning. She got away with a warning.

She should have gotten 30 licks with a Singapore cane.

ParticipantDear CaBi @ 15th & M,
Today I was the pedestrian crossing the street with the crosswalk. You have a death wish since you narrolow avoided me and then kamikazied through oncoming traffic. Not surprisingly, you had no helmet on. So this my kind attempt to suggest you not become a Darwin example. CheersJune 20, 2013 at 6:04 pm #973563americancyclo
ParticipantDear Capo Guy on the W&OD-
Did it really help you feel better to yell “Either you’re coasting uphill or you’re doing it wrong!”? I was slowing patiently behind three other cyclists so as not to hit any of the oncoming bikes and peds that you dove straight towards. Good for you!But when I easily caught up with you at the hill before Banneker Park and squealed my brakes, you slowed down and stopped while I passed. I was hoping for at least some good Cat6 racing so I could see how my ten year old MTB stacked up against your 2 year old crabon Specialized Road Bike.
What Happ’n Cap’n?
