Me: Dude soaked to the bone because he was too dense to check the weather report yesterday biking home on the W&OD before East Falls Church.

You: The guy wearing white, short-short shorts trotting along in barefoot shoes with a cotton long sleeve on in the middle of the rain.

Firstly, that tingling sensation below your knees could be early-onset arthritis, or your feet falling off, consult a doctor. Secondly, holy hell, white shorts in the rain become no shorts in the rain, some things you can’t unsee. Thirdly, I’m sorry about the splashing but I didn’t think I was throwing up that much of a rooster tail, my bad.

Me: Sorry I couldn’t come up with anything more original to yell than “OI! NO U-TURNS ON PENN!” at you as you paused contemplatively in the middle of your turn to block as many travel lanes as possible.

Next time I’m planning on “EXCUSE ME SIR, ARE YOU AWARE THAT MAKING A U-TURN THROUGH THE BIKE LANE IS IN FACT ILLEGAL AS WELL AS DANGEROUS? BE A PAL AND HAVE A LOVELY DAY! ALSO, MANY PARTS OF THE PINECONE ARE EDIBLE AND DELICIOUS! THE PLATYPUS IS THE ONLY ANIMAL THAT BOTH LAYS EGGS AND GIVES MILK, AND CAN THEREFORE MAKE ITS OWN CUSTARD!”

I am aware that this may necessitate turning around and following you. I’m OK with that.

I am actually planning to start running again, after March 20. Last time I ran in FiveFingers it was scraping my bare skin so I do need some toe socks.
