You: Southbound on 9th NW in the right lane
Me: The cyclist you honked at, then glared at as you passed after I moved right to hook turn at QLook, I understand traffic was bad this morning, but the reason you couldn’t pass me was because of the OTHER CARS, not because I was doing anything wrong. There are two lanes there – honk at the cars filling the left lane, not the bike KEEPING UP WITH TRAFFIC in the right lane. Not to mention it was the wife’s day to take the kids, so directly in front of me were my wife and kids on the longtail.
UGH. same thing this morning in Georgetown, and of course I passed her at the light at 25th while she waited to turn on to L St. no doubt harassing more of you on her way.

ParticipantSpeaking of kilts, is there such thing as a cycling kilt for men? If not, there should be.

Can’t go there.November 20, 2014 at 1:30 pm #1015323consularrider

ParticipantI once wore a sarong to a party and let me tell you it felt so-right… albeit I have never considered riding in one, that sounds like a total disaster for everyone involved.

ParticipantSarong, on so many levels.
You: Gink on a recumbent (no beard!) turning left into the garage at work, right, dead, smack, in front of me without a glance in my direction.
Me: I, bringer of light and joy to all.
Perhaps I should have said something instead of just glowering at you while you locked up your yellow nerdmobile.

Closest I’ve come to that was a toga.

ParticipantYou: Black Mercedes turning left, not in the turn lane.
Me: Law abiding cyclist trying to turn left. I assumed you were going straight, since you were in a travel lane and did not have a turn signal on. silly me.November 20, 2014 at 5:38 pm #1015367AFHokie

ParticipantWas that you Fast Friendly Guy that I saw this morning on MVT wearing a giant turkey on his helmet? Looked kind of like him, but hard to tell as I was picking up pace on that stretch of MVT toward Roosevelt Island. I did smile and get a good chuckle out of it on a cold morning.

ParticipantTo the asshat heading South between 395 and Graverly Point last night around 6:30 who nearly collided with me because it was so important to pass a slower rider in the dark in my lane as I rapidly approached. You’re lucky I was paying attention and that your light was brighter than your brain. #dimwit
