ParticipantUs:My wife and myself driving a friend’s kids to Union Station
You: Riding up the Center Leg expressway, no lights or helmet, sometimes in the shoulder, sometimes taking the lane I think (didn’t get a good view at that point)You are in fact the kind of scofflaw cyclist who gives the rest of us a bad name.
And next time you ride up the Center Leg without lights, please don’t forget to wear a helmet.

I always just called that 395 and had no idea that’s what it was called, but learn something new every day. I can’t fathom the notion of riding on it. Even with the speed camera.

Me: Laughing my a$$ off, because you two cat 6 athletes were totally racing down Brandywine Castle in an epic dualI think some people are misunderstanding “missed connection”. Here is a missed connection on an e-assist bike.

ParticipantYou: Dude who shoaled me and the kid at Lee & W&OD
Me: Guy on his way back from the park hauling 105 lbs (she’s gained some weight) of bike and trailer and cuteness.Sorry I sat on your wheel all the way up from Lee Hwy to Great Falls, didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable that a guy and his kid on a trailer were keeping up with you. Oh, and your wheel needs some TLC on a truer.

I go through that intersection everyday. It has poor sight lines if you are on Thomas Street, due to the curve and parking on Carlin Springs (although that has recently been somewhat alleviated due to a local resident pestering the county to remove some parking spots to improve conditions).

Just from the picture in the youtube clip, I thought you almost got hit by a falling utility pole. After watching, I realized it was your cable.

ParticipantYou: Guy driving a big black car (maybe Uber or something) on PA Ave
Me: The cyclist who prevented you from making the u-turn you clearly wanted to makeI was loud but calm and profanity-free. I’m happy you decided to drop off the undoubtedly SUPER important guy you were driving on the side of the street you were actually driving on.

ParticipantThis morning Rosslyn Custis WB- Team FeXY guy clearly out with a training client (pure awkward Fred on a sparkly new bike). Coach guy actually coaxed his client to run the red on Ft Meyer and the Custis after the guy had dutifully stopped for the signal. I know that the light is badly timed there and that lots of people run it but the client/coach non verbal exchange was soooo arrogant and Elite that it really torqued me off- “we don’t wait for lights, we are cyclists” sort of thing. If you are a professional (paid) rider, set a professional example for your clients. Please.

ParticipantMVT switchback from TR Island up to Key Bridge– to the guy flying down the switchback who was coming directly at me (as I was on the far right side going up, no less) and whom had to screech your brakes, well I’m glad the brakes/skid worked. Next time could you go a little slower and maybe stick to your side since there is nowhere for me to bailout except over the edge onto the GWMP. (The other riders behind you seemed to manage it with no problem).
