So, it’s starting to sound like what’s needed here is something out of a 50’s or 60’s B-movie, where the contestants all line up at the bottom of the hill, one foot down, waiting for Honeybadger6 to wave a scarf to signal the start, and then everyone races up the hill to the curb cut for the church parking lot.
    What could possibly go wrong?

Let’s go over the groundrules. Rule number 1: No touching of the hair or face… AND THAT’S IT!!!

It will not be a dropped scarf, it will be the sound of a beer cracking open that signals the start of the race!

Or the hair on the face (as appropriate).

Leesburg is not in Arlington County, so you don’t have to go there for work, right?

Quiet, you. Pizza delivery guys often have to travel for a big tip.

The day has finally come! I was worried it wouldn’t ever make it but, happily, it is TTHH! Looking forward to seeing all of you in Westover tonight. TwoWheelsDC and I have been working tirelessly this week… on our basement, repairing the aftermath of flooding from Sandy last year. So we really don’t have any fun planned other than showing up and writing out name tags, which I still have to pick up. Basically, we are likely to set the low bar for organization given Kathy’s amazing hostessing abilities so don’t expect too much! The manager is our neighbor, however, so he’s promised to take good care of us!

Given the weather report, it’s possible we’ll be inside rather than on the patio, so be sure you stroll in if you don’t see us immediately when you ride up! Meanwhile, I’m praying to the sun god for clear skies! Your soundtrack for the day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egVKYlvB6O4

I’ll be leaving L’Enfant Plaza sometime between 4 and 5 if anyone wants to meet up. I plan to go over the 14th St Bridge (because, seriously, Georgetown in afternoon rush? No thanks). 14th St Bridge CaBi station is a good meetup spot, and I’m flexible on timing.

I should hit the Lynn/Lee intersection of doom about 5 pm.

My departure time will depend mostly on the weather radar but will otherwise be around 4-4:30pm from DC

This’ll be my last Third Thursday happy hour before our cross-country bike tour! I’ll be at Westover Beer Garden as early as work allows (probably won’t get there until 6pm though).

I can meet up at that Cabi station at about 440 if that works for you. That should put us at the intersection of doom around 5. Sound good?
