Ok, start the segment a block earlier and we can have a one night KOM/QOM HH contest.

I’ll buy a beer for the first person to beat my #2 spot (which in my mind is really the KOM, because Tim Kelley) between now and HH…and I’ll buy a six pack of your choice from the Wall of Beer for anyone who can beat TK.

That segment has been flagged as dangerous. http://app.strava.com/segments/2605142

Huh, why, no busy cross streets or stop signs, good sight lines, what could be dangerous about that? It shouldn’t be the Westover Park since the rugrats don’t run across that street.

If I had to guess it would be because it starts after a stop sign that you would have to ride through (downhill) if you wanted to get the KOM. You can petition them to unflag it, although there are much better hills (and cleaner segments) around — e.g. Patrick Henry, Quantico or McKinley.

ParticipantI am disappointed that I will miss this one. I can probably organize another Westover HH later in the year.
I will try to (safely) take Mark’s #2 spot anyway
I don’t think I can take TK’s spot. I can’t go nearly as fast as he can at the run up; the hill is not long enough to make it up later.

Hans = the humblest KOM stealer I know. Now that his attention has been brought to this one, I’m going to have to get out the aerohelmet and skinsuit to try and get it back again.

Actually that probably wasn’t the problem as folks usually started it making a left turn without a stop sign. The problem with both segments is that if you want a medal, you may have to run the stop sign at Patrick Henry after accelerating from the top of the hill.

Or sprint to Patrick Henry and grab the brakes at the very last second, resulting in a near catastrophic skid into traffic…but I don’t think anyone would be dumb enough to do that………..

I haven’t had the balls to do that yet, but oh how I covet the #2 place.
