March 2021 Road and Trail Conditions

It looked like the W&OD at mm 3.5 was being worked on (between the Bluemont caboose and Wilson Blvd) about 2 pm today (Wednesday, March 3) . This is the section with all the root bumps that was repaired about five years ago.

PG Parks/MNCPPC posted an advisory about a few trail closures next week:

The Northeast Branch Trail at the Riverdale Road trail bridge will be closed March 8 for replacement prep activities.

The bridge on the spur trail between Hamilton/Magruder Park and the Northwest Branch Trail (in Hyattsville) will be closed March 8-9 for replacement prep activities.

[ATTACH=CONFIG]24752[/ATTACH] Also two patches between the I-395and W Glebe underpasses where the trail transitions from concrete to asphalt and back. They made speed bumps there.

I rode through the newly paved Bluemont section of WOD trail and noted that I wasn’t bounced out of my seat for the first time in a very long time; it is now truly nice and smooth as…!

The Rosslyn Monolith appears to be off. I knw it was working on Sunday, but today was my first chance by there since then and it was all dark.
