Public Meeting – Thursday, May 29, 2014 (not May 19, 2014 as posted earlier)
The City’s Department of Transportation & Environmental Services (T&ES), Transportation Planning Division will hold a project public meeting on Thursday, May 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in City Hall, Sister Cities Room 1101, 301 King Street.
This meeting will provide a project overview, schedule, operational concepts for a shared street along the 100 block of King Street, and receive input from interested stakeholders. The public meeting will follow a Waterfront Commission meeting that is scheduled from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the same location.
This study was requested by the Alexandria Waterfront Commission during the Waterfront Planning process, and will identify impacts of various roadway concepts to the 100 block (between Union and Lee Streets), including a larger pedestrian zone, and limiting vehicle access along the 100 block of King Street. These meetings are open to the public, and more information can be found on the project website http://www.alexandriava.gov/76226.
