City of Alexandria is holding an open house this Thursday, 5 to 7 PM, at Fairlington Presbyterian Church, on proposed improvements to King Street in the Bradlee area (Quaker to just beyond Menokin) This will be the first presentation of actual proposals based in previous input (thanks to all who gave input) and their analysis so far.
I hope this will include significant improvements for bikes and pedestrians – protected bike lanes, addressing the sidewalk gap on the NE side of the street, improving sidewalks on the west side, and making it easier to cross King. A good turn out, of folks supporting bike and pedestrian safety would be good. While voices from City of Alexandria are especially good, this clearly impacts Arlington residents, and attendance by advocates from Arlington would also be helpful.
